Notes:
A letter
from our new Worthy Matron:
Thank you to all who made the Installation of Officers for 2012
such a special night for us and for Worthington Chapter. Ken and
I are delighted to be serving and look forward to a wonderful
year.
We are especially glad to have so many new members take offices.
Please help us make them feel welcome and comfortable in their
new offices. Also, thank you to those who have agreed to serve
as committee members. All members are important for the future
success of Worthington Chapter.
I would also like to thank all those who provided so much help
and advice while I was in charge of Ways and Means last year.
This is very important to our chapter and a wonderful service we
provide to the Masons. If you haven't helped serve a meal, I
encourage you to come help. It is very fun and you get to enjoy
a delicious meal and fellowship with other members.
As we enter the holiday season, I wish for you the many
blessings of Thanksgiving and Christmas and for you to take the
time to make your loved ones know how much they mean to you.
Kind words and gratitude can often mean more than material
gifts. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on
the love that has been given to you.
In Loving
Service,
Suzanne

Worthington Shines at Grand Chapter Session
Worthington Chapter got plenty of attention at the
2011 Grand Chapter session, held in Dayton this past fall.
Our 2011 Worthy Matron was kept busy going to the
Grand East to collect our honors.
Worthington Chapter received the award for initiating
the most new members during the previous 12 months.
Our chapter initiated 15 new members during that time
period. In addition, the chapter also was one of 50
throughout the state who received certificates of
commendation for excellent ritual work.
Congratulations to our 2011 WM and WP,
Crissy Willeke
and Ken Scott, for a job well done.
We are so proud!
In addition:
Amy Brooks House, a recipient of the Grand
Chapter ESTARL award (Eastern Star Training Awards for
Religious Leadership) served as liturgist at the Sunday
worship service.
Marilyn Braatz,
PM placed third in the
ritual competition for her portrayal of Electa.
Ken Scott, PP and PGP, coordinated
the annual ritual competition at Grand Chapter.

Amy Brooks House at Grand Chapter
Our own Amy Brooks House, a three-year recipient of
the ESTARL award (Eastern Star Training Awards for Religious
Leadership), was the liturgist at the Sunday morning service
at Grand Chapter.
Amy is a student at the Trinity Seminary in Columbus.
Otterbein Student Wins
Chapter Scholarship
Sarah
Shively, oldest granddaughter of Bill and Bev Irwin, was
selected to receive this year’s $1,000 chapter scholarship.
Sarah’s parents are Beth (Irwin) and Scott Shively,
of Pickerington.
Sarah is a freshman at Otterbein College,
where she is a music major, with the goal of becoming a high
school band director. In her essay, Sarah said that, during
her high school years, she found her passion for music, but
also realized that her band directors played an important
role in teaching life lessons, as well as music.
She hopes to have the same impact on her students in
the future.
The scholarship will be a big help to Sarah in paying
for required private lessons and music, as well as her
tuition.
The Worthington Chapter Sholarship is offered each
year to children and grandchildren of Worthington members.
