Grandmother's Quilt

Grandmother’s quilt is
wrinkled and worn,
But the memories are
there, untattered, untorn.
For every stitch was
lovingly made,
Just the right color, just
the right shade.
The pattern she chose with
purposeful care,
The fabric she hoped would
withstand the wear.
Her thread of love is in
every stitch,
And because of her labor,
I am so very rich.
She’ll always be with us
For how could we forget
A woman whose quilt made
with love
Keeps us warm yet.
