Jan. 25 Stated Meeting - Program by Lake County Historical Society, Mr. Larry Disbro protraying Gen. Jack Casement - a civil war general and noted for laying the Golden Spike for the Union Pacific Railway.
Feb. 8 Stated Meeting, Annual Sweetheart Dinner - potluck at 6pm. Program following stated meeting Distinguished guests will be President James A. Garfield and his First Lady Lucretia Garfield and First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt.
Feb. 9 Line officers and Cornerstone Club lunch and meeting, Kingsville
Feb. 12 10:30 Fellowship in Conference Room followed by Lunch with residents of Breckenridge Village who are members of Eastern Star chapters. Notify W.M. if you plan to attend. (
This is a new project for our chapter this year - it started in December and will continue on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.)Feb. 13 Deadline for reservations for Trip No. 2

Feb. 22 Stated Meeting - Initiation . Visit from Sparky and his trainer , Gordon
Thompson, Painesville Township Fire Dept.Feb. 25 Trip No. 2 Depart Painesville Masonic Building at 10:00am via Limousine Bus, Attend Brunch at House of Blues followed by Gospel Music Concert. Return trip to Painesville by 2pm. Cost $40. Includes transportation, drivers tip, brunch, and concert. Details are available by contacting W.M. Deadline with payment is Feb. 13th. Sample of some of the brunch menu items: Chef Attended Omelet Station, Scrambled Eggs, Cheese Grits, Macaroni and Cheese, Crisp Bacon, Home Style Sausage, Roasted Garlic Potatoes, Muffins, Bagels, Mini Croissants, Fresh Sliced Seasonal Fruit, Peel and Eat Shrimp Cocktail, Carving Station, Chicken Jambalaya, Southern Fried Chicken, Cold Noodle Salad, Cold Vegetable Salad, Turnip Greens, Traditional Bread Pudding, Coffee, Tea, Soda, Juice, Mimosas.
March 14 Stated Meeting - Grace Chapter, Geneva will be our Friends. Program by OES Speakers Bureau, PGP Cliff Houck and his wife, Evelyn portraying Mr. and Mrs. Rob Morris, founder of our order.
March 28 Stated Meeting Program on Voices of Lake County Women in honor of Women's History month. Sponsored by Lake County Historical Society.
April 6 Tea and Vintage Fashion Show 2pm - 100 years of fashion
April 10 Urania Chapter will be friends of Rose Chapter, Conneaut
April 11 Stated Meeting - program by Morning Glory
April 12 Line Officers Meeting at Urania
April 25 Stated Meeting - Program on Hymns by Lake County Historical Society

Urania Chapter has been proud to support the General Grand Chapter and our Ohio Grand Chapter Charities: Heart, Cancer, 32nd Degree Masonic Learning Centers for Dyslexia, Masonic Youth Organizations - International Order of Rainbow for Girls, Job's Daughters, and Order of DeMolay for Boys. ESTARL (Eastern Star Training Awards for Religious Leadership), and the Ohio Eastern Star Home and Health Care Center at Mount Vernon, Ohio. - Operating Fund, Endowment Fund, Hobby and Crafts Fund, Needs List, and Christmas Wish List, Grand Chapter Benevolence Fund, Transportation Fund, W.G.M. special projects (this year it is to purchase a new bus for the OES Home). International Eastern Star Temple in Washington, D.C.
We have been the sponsoring body of Painesville Assembly No. 14, International Order of Rainbow for Girls since it was instituted in 1934.
The Chapter is currently sponsoring three ESTARL students.
In addition the Chapter also supports many local charities such as the American Liver Foundation, The Lake County Society for Rehabilitation, the Salvation Army, The St. James Soup Kitchen, Relay for Life, Painesville United Methodist ChurchFood Pantry, First Church Congregational, United Church of Christ Disaster Relief Fund, United Way of Lake County, Forbes House, Hope Chest, Disaster Relief for Painesville Flood Victims, and the Ohio Masonic Home.. We co-sponsor a Christmas Party for the children and grand children of the members of bodies meeting at the Painesville Masonic Building and their children’s and grand children’s friends.
